Austin Caritas is an inner-city mission that started in Austin in 2013 by a group of students from the University Catholic Center at the University of Texas to meet the needs for a radical change in how Catholics live their faith. CARITAS means love in Latin, but it also stands for                                Catholics Answering the Redeemer's Invitation To Authentic Sanctity.
mission logo

Every year we decide on a theme to focus the mission around. Additionally, the team comes up with an image that serves as a physical representation for the service and overall goal of that specific mission. This year's theme was, "A covenant family, embracing the hearts of our city!" I had the opportunity to design the logo and banner for this year's mission!

missionary handbook

Every missionary receives a handbook with all the information necessary throughout the week. It includes an explanation of the mission and theme, liturgical readings and song sheets. I created this year's missionary handbook through Adobe InDesign.

mission t-shirts

For this year's mission, I wanted the t-shirts to serve as a means of remembrance for the strivings and love that was put forth during the mission. I designed an outline version of the mission logo for the back of the shirts along with the theme in a stylized typeface.
Facebook frame

I designed a Facebook frame for everyone attending the mission to use. Considering the amount of spam on feeds, it's a nice way to promote the mission in a way that is simple and not overbearing.
